Maruti Suzuki sold more than 100,000 cars in India in July, passing the six-figure mark for the second time in the current fiscal year.

The 100,857 vehicle sales in July 2010 included 10,743 units for export, and compared with 78,074 sales in the same month a year ago.
Maruti Suzuki’s volume in the domestic market grew by 33.4%.
In June, the company reported a 17.3% rise in sales despite a six-day shutdown of its plants for maintenance work. Sales grew 28% in May.
Car sales in India have been boosted by a rapidly expanding economy.
Sales at Mahindra & Mahindra, the country’s number one utility vehicle maker, rose 24% in July to 28,049 units while Hyundai Motor’s Indian unit, the second-largest car maker in the country, rose 24% to 28,811 units. It also exported 21,600 cars in the month.
Tata Motors reported sales growth of 41%.
