It sold 67,005 units on the domestic market, up 5.6% year on year. The previous highest monthly domestic sale tally was 65,216 units in November 2007.


The company exported 4,774 cars last month and sold a total of 71,779 vehicles in January 2009, up 5.4%. The previous highest total sales in a month was in March 2007 (71,772)


Meanwhile, Mahindra & Mahindra posted a 21% drop in January total vehicle sales to 17,611 units


Domestic sales dropped 17% to 17,320 units, exports were down 80% to 291 and Logan sales fell 74% to 597.
