Mahle Filter Systems has inaugurated its INR60m (US$1.2m) plant at Parwanoo, in India’s Himachal Pradesh, which is set to go on stream by February next year.

The company is looking at annual revenue of INR500m (US$10.3) from it, Mahle Filter Systems India (MFSI) said in a statement.
The new plant Parwanoo Plant II will supply existing and new customers such as Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, General Motors and Bosch. It will also supply the aftermarket in both India and export markets.
The plant can make 22m filters a year and will manufacture PU moulded filter elements, ecological plastic embedded filter elements and lube oil spin-on filters.
Mahle Filter Systems is a joint venture between Germany’s Mahle Group and Indian component maker Anand Automotive Systems. It already has three plants in Parwanoo, Gurgaon and Pune.
