Mahindra has launched a four-door pure electric car, the E-Verito, at a public event in India that was held to promote hybrid and electric vehicles on the World Environment Day. It is the country’s first four-door pure electric car.

The car, which is expected to be priced from INR900,000 (US$14,025) has a 29KW power train that can produce 39bhp of power, ETAuto.com reported. The car has lithium ion batteries and a range of 100km (60 miles) on a seven hour recharge. Top speed is 85km/h.

The car will benefit from the governments FAME policy that subsidises alternate fuel vehicles.
