State-run Life Insurance Corp of India (LIC) has raised its stake in engine maker Cummins India by 2.18% via open market purchases, the insurer said in a statement to the stock exchange.

LIC acquired 4.3m Cummins India shares between 29 January and 3 March it said in a filing to the stock exchange cited by Reuters.
It now holds 7.6%, up from 5.42% before the transactions.
