Hankook Tire plans to sell 100,000 tyres in India and book revenue of US$10m during the current fiscal year.
Asean-India sales and marketing chief JB Park told The Hindu’s Business Line: “The recessionary trend being experienced worldwide has not affected the sale of premium cars in India. The production of SUV vehicles is growing at a faster pace and there is a potential for high end tyres in the market.”
Hankook reportedly booked US$6m in Indian sales last year.
Of the total consumer tyre market of 23m tyres annually in India, Hankook expects to reach 300,000 units in the premium sector within three years, Park added.
