The company expects to sell 5,000 units per month of the newly launched Chevrolet Beat, Karl Slym, president and managing director of General Motors India, said.
The Beat is the Indian market version of the GM-Daewoo redesigned Spark, sold mainly as a Chevrolet worldwide. It was first announced about a year ago and is already on sale in many markets.
“The Beat can be a real game changer in the Indian mini-car segment,” Slym told Reuters after launching the compact hatchback in India.
The locally assembled car is priced from INR334,000 (US$7,111).
