Vehicle maker DaimlerChrysler is to launch its Actros commercial vehicle in India during the first six months of the year, a local report has said.

“The Actros range is likely to hit the markets within the first half of this year,” DaimlerChrysler India MD and CEO Wilfried Aulbur was quoted by Asia in Focus saying today.

The announcement was made as the company unveiled the latest edition of the Mercedes S-Class and M-Class for the Indian market.

The report said that the Actros range would be imported as completely built units.

Aulbur added that DaimlerChrysler was also looking at potentially moving into the luxury bus market in India. The company said it was interested in the bus market but have not taken any decision as yet.
