For developing its driverless car technology, Continental will be using the software talent pool of Bangalore, reports Gaadi.com.

Continental’s senior vice president of systems and automotive electronics, Christian Senger, said, “We’re here to see how to use much more of the potential of Bangalore, how to bring the Indian centre to directly contribute to this cutting-edge technology. Without high-performance software we are sure that we will not sell our components successfully in the future. We are transforming ourselves into an IT company and the Asian market can be supported out of India”.

The company’s partially automated car technolgy is expected to hit the market by 2015, its mostly autonomous vehicle tech would be rolled out by 2020, while its fully autonomous car tech is expected to be out by 2024.
