Domestic passenger car sales in India fell by 8% to 142,849 units in November, according to data released by SIAM.
“We are going through a challenging phase,” said SIAM Deputy Director General Sugato Sen . “We anticipated that the November sales will decline after the festive season demand dries up. We knew that the high demand during the festivities were unsustainable under the current economic conditions.”

LMC Automotive said that as 2013 comes to a close, OEMs in India are now focused on formulating strategies to bolster sales in 2014.
New models and upgrades are thus being lined up to be showcased at Auto Expo 2014 in New Delhi in February.
It said that notable among these will be two new models from Tata Motors coded the ‘Falcon’ project to give company to the Indica and Indigo range in the Sub-Compact Car segment. The two cars would be critical to revive Tata’s dismal performance in the market this year.
Datsun is likely to display the Go Sub-Compact Car and Go+ Compact MPV – both models will come to market later in the year.
