Bridgestone is to raise production at its central India site as well as increase tyre prices according to Indian reports.
The company is apparently increasing daily production at its Indore plant from 13,500 to 15,000 tyres.

“We are increasing prices by 3.5% on the back of higher raw material prices,” Bridgestone Indian general manager, sales and marketing, passenger car radial tires, Vaibhav Saraf is quoted by Mumbai media as noting.
Last month, Bridgestone said it would build a new Indian tyre plant near Pune, Maharashtra state, at a cost of about JPY50bn (US$540.4m).
“This new plant will begin passenger car radial tyre (PSR) production and truck and bus radial tyre (TBR) production in response to increasing demand for these tyres in India, which is seeing marked economic growth,” Bridgestone said in a statement.
PSR production is scheduled to begin in January 2013 and TBR production is scheduled to begin the following August.
