The BMW plant in Chennai has built its 25,000th car.
Managing director Juergen Eder said: “It has taken us less than six years to achieve this milestone and I would like to congratulate the team at BMW Plant Chennai for contributing to the continuous growth in production with highest quality standards.”
The Nindu Business Line said BMW India had delivered 4,457 cars so far in calendar 2012 after a tally of 9,371 in 2011, leading the luxury car segment in India for the third consecutive year.
Chennai builds the 3 and 5 Series, X1 in petrol and diesel and diesel X3.
