Audi India Managing Director Benoit Tiers said an assembly line for Q5 would become operational by early next year with an initial capacity of 500 units. The plant currently assembles the A4 and A6 models.

“If demand grows, we would consider adding more assembly lines to produce more vehicles,” he added.

Audi has also just announced new versions of its Q7 SUV for the Indian market and is planning to increase the number of dealerships to 18 from the current 12.
