Apollo Tyres says it has appointed former Pirelli CEO, Francesco Gori as advisor for strategy and will form part of the management board.
Gori's last appointment was as CEO of Pirelli, a position he held from 2006 till he left the company in 2012 and after 33 years with the Italian tyre company.

“He [Gori] is widely acknowledged as the architect of the premium strategy of his former company and we look forward to his insight and guidance to sharpen Apollo's focus and implementation in the brand and technology areas,” said Apollo vice chairman and MD, Neeraj Kanwar.
“We also see him as a resource in developing new opportunities with his deep and wide knowledge of the industry around the world.”
For his part, Gori added: “Apollo Tyres is accelerating growth by strengthening its presence in existing markets and extracting value from its recent EUR475m (US$525m) greenfield investment in Europe to enhance its key global brands – Apollo and Vredestein.”
