International Automotive Components (IAC) has officially opened its plant for 'premium door panels' in Prestice, Czech Republic. The new location will be the company's third operation in Prestice and will add 800 more skilled jobs to the 1,300 already employed by IAC in the area.
IAC says it has invested over US$40m in the new facility, which covers an area of more than 32,560 square meters (350,470 square feet).

"Talent acquisition is a key factor in our European manufacturing strategy and our goal to further accelerate our position as the premium interiors supplier of choice for some of the most inspirational luxury vehicle brands in Germany, Sweden, and the United Kingdom."
The greenfield site is the final phase of IAC's Prestice 2 location and will enable the company to 'continue supporting its customers from a Central European location' while leveraging the strong 'employer-of-choice reputation established in the area with the Prestice 1 site, the company's centre of excellence for headliners in Europe'.

"IAC is a world leader in injection molding and the flawless launch of a 600,000 unit per year door panel program in the new Prestice 2 site is a strong foundation to pursue further growth in the region."
