Hyundai Motor this week unveiled the Ioniq concept cabin, its latest vehicle interior concept developed in partnership with LG Electronics for future models to be sold under its recently-launched Ioniq electric vehicle (EV) brand.

Hyundai aims to become a global leader in the era of electrified mobility with its Ioniq dedicated EV lineup brand, using its E-GMP (Electronic Global Modular Platform) dedicated EV platform.

The concept cabin was developed "as a vision of future in-car customer experiences", to make "the transformation from transportation to personalised mobility solution that suits various lifestyles".

The concept is designed to leverage the abundant interior space and vast power supply capacity of EVs to integrate home electronics and appliances in future models, all customisable depending on customers' needs and lifestyles.

Hyundai Motor said in a statement the concept cabin provides a "hint" of what is possible in EV interiors, including clothing and shoe care devices, a capsule coffee making machine and a ceiling mounted 77 inch flexible OLED screen which can show different content simultaneously. Sound is pumped through speakers in headrests, creating personal sound zones. There is even a floor cleaning robot and overhead UV LED lights to ensure the cabin is kept clean and disinfected.

Hyundai confirmed it plans to offer some of these "value added experiences" in the Ioniq 5, a dedicated EV scheduled to be launched early next year.
