Sales of new cars in Hungary rose 7% year on year in March and 22% for the first quarter, according to market researcher Datahouse.

Passenger car sales were 4,800 in March taking the first quarter’s total to 14,000, an increase of 22.2%.

Total vehicle sales, including commercial vehicles, rose 7.4% for the month and 17.5% for the quarter with LCVs posting a 19.6% gain to 2,800 while bus and heavy truck sales fell by 76% and 23% respectively.
