Nissan Motor plans to launch its Infiniti luxury brand in Japan by the end of the year, in an effort to compete more effectively with other luxury brands such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Toyota’s Lexus.

The company plans to start selling the Q50 model, an upgraded version of the Skyline sports coupe, through its existing Nissan dealer network in Japan. There are no plans to launch a dedicated dealer network in the country for the brand at this stage.
