Guangzhou Honda Automotive Co. Ltd., the Chinese joint venture between Honda Motor Co. and Denway Motors Ltd., said its vehicle sales in January to September rose 76.4% to 81,181 units, according to Reuters.

The company sold 12,482 vehicles last month, Reuters said, citing a company Chinese language web site.

Reuters said Guangzhou Honda made 12,474 vehicles in September and rolled out 81,659 units in the first nine months of the year, up 77.6% from the same period last year but the company, which makes Accord sedan and Odyssey minivans, did not give a breakdown for its production and sales.

The sales figure in September also included the company’s newly launched Fit [Jazz] saloon, which was launched at 99,800 yuan, the report added.

Reuters said Guangzhou Honda plans to sell 16,000 Fit models this year and its total sales target for the year is 117,000 vehicles.
