Honda has built its 25 millionth car in the US, a 2018 Accord from the Marysville assembly plant in Ohio.
Having started with the Gold Wing motorcyle in 1979, Honda began car assembly with the second generation Accord in 1982. Marysville was the first plant owned by a Japanese automaker to produce cars in the US and is one of five now operating there.

Twelve Honda and Acura cars and light truck models are now produced at the assembly plants in Ohio, Alabama and Indiana, along with engines and transmissions made in Ohio, Alabama and Georgia.
Honda has spent US$14bn on US auto factories including $3.4bn during the past four years. It purchases parts and materials from 624 OEM suppliers.
The nominated milestone car was, appropriately, a blue Accord.
This 10th-generation 2018 model was named 2018 North American Car of the Year and has new styling, a new body structure and new powertrains including two new turbo engines and the claimed world’s first 10-speed automatic transmission for a FWD car.
