The plant initially will produce 1.8L and 1.5L Civic passenger cars for sale domestically and for export. Engines will also be exported to other plants in the region.
Initial vehicle production capacity at Prachin Buri is 60,000 units per year, bringing Honda's total capacity in the country to 360,000 units. The new plant can be expanded to 120,000 units per year according to demand.
The company told local reporters the plant will export 20,000 CBUs and 20,000 CKDs in the first year, with the remaining output to be sold domestically.
