Taiwan’s Hon Hai Technology Group, also known as Foxconn, announced it has agreed to join Stellantis, Nvidia and Uber in the development of Level 4 (hands-off, eyes-off) self-driving vehicles for use as robotaxi services globally.
Foxconn confirmed it will make available its expertise in high-performance computing, sensor integration, and electronic control systems to the Stellantis-Nvidia-Uber alliance. The company said that its hardware and integration expertise will be combined with Nvidia’s advanced AI computing technologies, powered by the Nvidia Drive AGX Thor and the DRIVE AV software stack, Stellantis’ vehicle platforms, and Uber’s vast global network, to form a powerful alliance to advance autonomous mobility.

The alliance aims to develop Level 4-ready vehicles based on Nvidia’s Drive AGX Hyperion 10 architecture, a reference compute and sensor platform that enables safe, scalable, and software-defined autonomous mobility.
Foxconn pointed out that “Level 4 robotaxis require a sophisticated technology stack, including powerful computing, smart power management, reliable connectivity, and effective thermal control. They also rely on a wide assortment of sensors, such as LiDAR, radar, and multi-view cameras, working in concert to perceive the environment.”
Foxconn’s chairman, Young Liu, said in a statement: “Autonomous mobility is a strategic priority within Foxconn’s EV programme. The strategic partnerships and strengths across Nvidia, Stellantis, and Uber will accelerate the deployment of Level 4 robotaxi technology, with Foxconn delivering HPC and sensor integration to enable a global rollout.”
Nvidia’s founder and CEO, Jensen Huang, pointed out that “Level 4 autonomy isn’t just a milestone for the auto industry, it is a leap in AI capability. The vehicle becomes a robot – one that sees, perceives, plans, and drives with superhuman precision. By combining Stellantis’ global scale with Nvidia’s Drive and Foxconn’s system integration, we are creating a new class of purpose-built robotaxi fleets – making transportation safer, more accessible, and more affordable for everyone.”
