HVAC and thermal systems supplier Hanon Systems has opened a new engineering centre in Palmela, Portugal.
The facility is on the same site as a compressor factory in Palmela, south of Lisbon.

Palmela produces electric scroll compressors, which are essential components for heat pumps.
The two storey engineering centre provides 2,488 sq m of space to consolidate existing and new test operations, prototype assembly and workspaces for personnel.
Capability includes inverter software development bracket and compressor design, release and prototyping plus environmental, climatic and electrical/electronic (E/E) performance and durability testing. The building also accommodates four meeting rooms, a large auditorium and cafeterias.
Around 100 people are based at the new centre which has room for further expansion.
Hanon operates 50 factories and three regional innovation centres, employing 20,000 people in 21 countries.
