Webasto-Edscha, the convertible business unit of Webasto, finally announced it developed and makes the roof system for the BMW 4 series convertible launched last March.
Like its predecessor, it’s a three-piece roof system made from light sheet steel design.
A new hydraulic system saves space in the stowed position and allows through-loading plus wind break storage behind the rear seat.
An hydraulic loading aid integrated into the trunk lid raises the stowed roof upwards fully automatically, allowing the luggage space to be loaded.
An acoustic headliner ensures significantly improved sound insulation. Lighting integrated into the headliner offers additional rear seat convenience.
Final assembly of the retractable hard top takes place at Webasto-Edscha’s convertible roof factory in Regensburg on the BMW factory site. Pre-assembly is at Hengersberg, Lower Bavaria.
