‘While the segment of urban delivery vehicles, vans, and pickups is somewhat down on some markets, or figures are stagnating, this is offset by the market shares which have been won by our models.  This sets us apart from our competitors and the general market environment. We are keeping a very close eye on the tense situation in several markets, however, and we are acting with careful consideration,” said Bram Schot, Member of the Executive Management for Sales and Marketing for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.

The most vigorous region for deliveries outside Europe for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles was again South America, where, with 55,700 deliveries, 2.3% fewer vehicles were handed over to customers (January – May 2011: 57,000).  Deliveries of the Saveiro were down by 10.3% to 30,400 units (January – May 2011: 33,800), while the T2 was up by 0.4% to 10,400 deliveries (January – May 2011: 10,350).
