Germany’s Volkswagen plans to increase diesel engine production by up to 15 percent
in the next two years, to meet growing demand and increase its market lead.
According to Karl-Heinz Neumann, head of the powertrain division, the car manufacturer
is aiming to build two million engines within the next two to three years, compared
with 1.7 million last year.
