Volkswagen is remaining silent on speculation that group chief officer electric traction Karl-Thomas Neumann, is to run the manufacturer’s Chinese operation.

“We in principle do not comment on personnel matters,” a Volkswagen spokesman in Germany told just-auto.
“Neumann is still in his old job, we have seen all the speculation, of course we have. He is still doing that job definitely – I really don’t know where the speculation has come from.”
Neumann – who is also general representative with Volkswagen Group – was formerly chief executive at supplier and tyremaker Continental before leaving last August.
He had previously held various posts at VW departments from 1999 until 2004 before heading to Continental.
