Volkswagen Group today (10 December) posted a 12.7% increase in deliveries to 6.59m in the period to November, as it anticipates a new delivery record of 7m vehicles for the full year.
“The Volkswagen Group is benefiting disproportionately from the upturn on most major automobile markets,” said VW Group board member for sales Christian Klingler. “We anticipate a new delivery record of more than 7m vehicles for the full year.”

Deliveries for 2009 were exceeded after eleven months of the current year, added the Group. Additionally, last month saw a 16.2% rise in deliveries of Group models to 617,100 units.
The company delivered a total of 6.59m vehicles – up 12.7% worldwide from January to November, outperforming the trend on global automobile markets.
At 617,100 units, more vehicles were also delivered in the month of November than in the same month last year. While the market only improved by 10.3% in November, Group deliveries grew by 16.2%.
Positive development continued in markets such as China, with the total for January to November running at 1.82m units, up 37.8%. Growth in the Asia-Pacific region as a whole was 38.6%.
The Group also reported continued high growth in the US, delivering 325,600 units, up 21.3%.
Western Europe (excluding Germany) grew to 1.71m units, while Central and Eastern Europe grew 9.8%. Growth in Russia was particularly positive, with a rise of 36.3%.
Domestically, the VW Group delivered 950,000 units, down 19% in the period to November, whereas the overall market contracted 25.2% due to the effects of the scrappage premium.
