Volkswagen is soon to start Amarok pickup truck production at its Hanover commercial vehicle plant after officially opening a new assembly line. Since launch two years ago, the model has been built only in Argentina.
Hanover will assemble about 40,000 units a year to supply Europe and Africa while the Pacheco, Argentina plant concentrates on Latin America and South America.
Pre-production at Hanover has started and pilot assembly starts soon. Saleable production starts at the end of June and the targets is 185 trucks a day.
Hall 2 – where the LT was made from 1975 to 2006 required paint and body shop alterations and new assembly lines for the Amarok.
