Volkswagen won’t decide until next year if there will be closer cooperation among Scania, MAN and its own truck-making operations, its CEO has said.

“No longer this year,” Martin Winterkorn told Reuters about the timing of such a move. He had said in July VW management would address the situation in autumn, the news agency noted.
VW is the biggest shareholder in both companies with a voting stake of nearly 69% in Sweden’s Scania and almost 30% of Germany’s MAN.
It also has a South American heavy truck unit that exports (right hand drive) assembly kits to South Africa.
VW Brazil also is readying a new light pickup truck line expected to be sold in many global markets, including Europe.
