Suppliers to the Volkswagen Eos coupe-cabriolet have been expressing their anger to Automobilwoche that they were not informed directly that the market introduction of the car would delayed by several months.

Instead they read about it first in the press. Suppliers told the newspaper that it makes a mockery of VW’s promised partnership approach.
Small suppliers are particularly affected by the delay. They have already installed capacity and ordered materials. “We have enormous problems with our banks,” said one supplier.
The delay is caused by problems with the five-piece Webasto convertible roof, which the newspaper links to a lack of rigidity in the car body. Volkswagen, on the other hand, blames the delayed introduction on unexpectedly strong demand.
