Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles in Europe boosted its deliveries to customers to 104,900 lightweight commercial vehicles from January to April 2014 (2013: 97,800; up 7.2%).

Worldwide the deliveries were 166,000 vehicles, 2.4% lower (2013: 170,100).

In western Europe, sales rose by 7.4% from January to April 2014, to 92,300 vehicles (2013: 85,900).

In Germany, sales rose 3.3% to 34,300 (2013: 33,200). Significant increases were achieved in the UK with a rise of 19.5% to 15,250 vehicles (2013: 12,800) and in Spain with sales up 43.4% to 3,000 vehicles (2013: 2,100).

In eastern Europe, deliveries increased 5.8% to 12,600 vehicles (2013: 11,900). Stimuli for growth also came from Africa with 6,500 deliveries (2013: 6,300; up 2.6%), from the Asia- Pacific region with 6,950 (2013: 6,200: up 12.3%), as well as in Mexico where 3,600 were delivered (January – April 2013: 2,900; up 24.2%).

In South America, deliveries dropped 22.9% to 37,500 vehicles (2013: 48,600). This was not only due to the economically difficult market conditions in the region but also to the discontinuation of the T2 model series in Brazil.
