795,000 Volkswagen-branded vehicles were sold, an increase of 15.7% on a year earlier. Sales in March alone were 330,000 units, an increase of 16.3%.


Sales in China grew 32.2% to 144,800 units.


Volkswagen also recorded increases in the US with sales of 53,300 vehicles, an increase of 24.3%.


In Germany sales were up 8.9% to 125,2000 units in the first three months, and in the rest of Europe they were up 15.3% to 259,000.
