The DAB module can be added to audio systems in the current A6, A8 and Q7 for £345 in the UK, delivering a wider range of radio stations than the traditional analogue FM systems with interference-free sound clarity rivalling output from a compact disc.
In future, the system will also be capable of reading the driver regularly updated and personalised news from around the world on demand, and will enable the driver to tailor what is broadcast to suit his or her personal needs and tastes by either screening out or maximising specific items such as sport or weather as required.
Information will be transmitted by an automated voice output accessed via Audi’s Multi Media Interface (MMI) controller, and will be constantly available at the touch of a button.
Content will be regularly updated.
