“Leipzig is closed this week and Munich, Dingolfing and Regensburg will close next week,” a UK-based spokeswoman confirmed to just-auto.com on Thursday.
A German newspaper report had earlier quoted a spokesman there as saying about 40,000 employees would be affected as the company reduces this year’s output by 25,000 in response to falling demand.
