November unit sales there set another record at 2,457, up 100% year-on-year. Market share was a record 5.2%. This is the brand’s 35th consecutive month of double or triple-digit growth.
However, across Europe, Mazda sales were up only 1% year-on-year last month. The brand sold 20,422 vehicles in November, still the best November in unit terms since 1990.
Sales in southern Europe were lead by Spain and Greece. Spain achieved its highest November volume ever, with 1,260 units, up 2.5% year-on-year. For the fiscal year, Spain was up 14% compared to the same period last fiscal year. Greece’s volume of 566 was the highest volume in 13 years, up 8% on last November.
Scandinavian November sales rose 11% year-on-year and fiscal year sales werere up more than 20% in the region. Both Sweden and Denmark increased sales 15% in November. Danish year to date sales were up 37%. Finland sales rose 14% in November.
In western Europe, Switzerland sales were up 8% and the Netherlands achieved a 7% increase year-on-year. In the UK, Mazda’s second largest market, November registrations rose 6.5% to 2,916 units in November but year to date sales of 43,807 were off 5%.
November 3 sales volume was the highest since launch, with 8,127 units, up 42% year-on-year and the highest volume recorded for a Mazda product in the C non-premium segment since November 1989.
