According to news agency dpa, the company has strengthened its forecasts for the financial year ending July. Speaking at the company’s half year financial results announcement, chairman Wendelin Wiedeking said that Porsche should achieve a good profit result this year, in line with last year’s result, as long as nothing unforeseen happens.

Growth is expected to come from China, Russia and the Middle East. Sales have, however, fallen in the US, Porsche’s biggest export market. In January and February sales were 10% down. Porsche has shipped fewer cars to North America in anticipation of slower sales.

According to Bloomberg, the car maker also said that it doesn’t feel any “time pressure” regarding what to do with its stake in Volkswagen.
