Porsche’s global sales jumped almost 21% year on year in August with uncertainties in Europe offset by increasing confidence in the US and growth in the Middle East and South East Asia.

The luxury SUV and sports car maker delivered 10,912 vehicles during the month and year to date sales are running 15% up at 92,474 vehicles.

Sales and marketing chief Bernhard Maier said Porsche was “still on the course for growth”. He added the brand would also “surprise the world” with an additional product at the Paris motor show later this month.

Porsche achieved growth in all sales regions in August with the US leading the way, up 38% while China rose 28%.

The iconic 911 remained as popular as ever with 1,559 sold, an increase of 29.5% over August 2011.
