Porsche has recalled all 11,300 of its Panamera models following concerns surrounding safety belt mechanisms.
The sports car – only in production since September last year – is being recalled to dealers in a bid to fix a problem occurring when the front seats are in their fully-forward position.

“It is only relevant when we have the seat in a very extreme position, if you were completely forward,” a Porsche UK spokeswoman told just-auto.
“What we need to make sure is we fit an additional safety element on to the seat belt fasting point. It is adding to the locking system to make sure the restraint function works.”
Porsche insists the remedial work is as a result of its own internal checking and does not arise from any incidents involving consumers.
Porsche UK, which has sold 404 Panameras, says it is contact with customers and work has already started on models up to 25 February.
“Because this is safety-related, it is something we need to do as a matter of urgency,” added the spokeswoman. “It has already started and can be fairly speedy.
“We are being pro-active. Porsche follows its own quality checks and clearly we want to make sure safety is top of our list.”
