Porsche has created a new fully-owned subsidiary, with a view to restructuring its activities in a key European market.

In June 2008, Porsche Switzerland will officially take over from AMAG Automobil-und Motoren as importer of Porsche vehicles, spare parts, and accessories, with head office in Zug. AMAG will remain a key trade partner for Porsche.

The managing director of the new subsidiary, who will initially look after a network of 12 Porsche dealers and 14 service operations, is Christian Muschal (43) a 10-year Porsche veteran, most recently with responsibility for the area of import-market sales.

Starting with a staff of ten, Muschal takes charge in Switzerland in January 2008. His team will then be expanded to around 30.

“This new sales structure will put Porsche in an even stronger position when it comes to meeting growing demands associated with its extended model range,” the automaker said.

In fiscal 2006/2007 ended 31 July, Porsche supplied about 2,000 vehicles to Swiss customers.
