Year to date sales were up 29% to 134,717.

“The second half of the year started well with the best July in the history of our company,” said sales and marketing chief Bernhard Maier.

“Now we are continuing our product drive. Customers and fans of our brand can look forward to a special world premiere at the Frankfurt motor show [911 facelift] in September.”

German sales last month rose 46% to 3,179 and US sales rose 10% to 4,730. That, by a few units made the US top Porsche market in July but the YTD honour goes to China – 4,534 last month (+6.2%) and 33,161 (+41.1%) year so far. The US YTD tally was up 29.7% to 29,868.

The Chinese results for Porsche reflect those Mercedes announced for the supposedly ailing market earlier this week – July sales up 41.5% to 29,450 and a YTD rise of 24.2% to 194,861.

As usual, the Macan was Porsche’s most popular model in July with about 7,800 delivered. The 911 and Cayman booked double-digit growth.
