Porsche’s Leipzig factory in eastern Germany has built the 25,000th Panamera, 10 months after sales began.

The car is a ruby-red 3.6-litre, 300hp V6 version destined for the USA where the new engine option is expected to reduce the automaker’s corporate average fuel economy (CAFE) rating.

Porsche launched the five-door model in September 2009 with 400hp and 500 hp V8s, adding the V6 option in May.
