Volkswagen intends to suspend production at its Emden factory next Monday because of parts delivery shortages.

Two shifts will be canceled in Emden, where the Passat is made, due to lack of diesel engines, a spokesman told Financial Times Deutschland.

Earlier, the company announced that it would cancel all three shifts at its main Wolfsburg site for a day in order to give suppliers some time to cover the shortage.
