“I know only that a nine-digit cash amount is on hand,” Fred Irwin told Reuters, adding the exact figure was toward the low hundreds of millions.


He said time was against the idea of finding a completely new investor other than Magna International, which is negotiating with GM to strike a binding agreement to buy Opel along with Russian partners.
