Walter Borst will be appointed chief supervisor of Opel at the next supervisory board meeting scheduled for Tuesday, according to a German media reports.

Borst, currently in charge of General Motors’ finance department, joined Opel’s supervisory board a few weeks ago. With his appointment this week, the manager will succeed Carl Peter Forster, who left GM after the failed sale of Opel to a Magna-led consortium, Financial Times Deutschland said, citing Manager Magazin.


In the last few weeks, Opel’s supervisory board was temporarily chaired by works council head Klaus Franz.
