Aldred will also become a member of the Opel/Vauxhall leadership board, the company’s extended leadership team.
Küsper worked at Daimler from 1990 to 2009, including as head of sales and marketing Germany, for the Mercedes-Benz, Maybach and Smart brands.
Most recently he was managing director of automotive supplier, Johann Hay Automobiltechnik.
“Strengthening Opel and Vauxhall is a top priority for GM,” said supervisory board chairman, Steve Girsky. “With our multi-billion Euro model offensive, we are taking the right approach in a challenging market.
“And with Peter Christian Küspert, we will bring additional momentum to this offensive. With Duncan Aldred’s focus now solely on Vauxhall and the UK Market, this further demonstrates our commitment to win in Europe.”
