Citing the VDA, Dow Jones said new car registrations slipped to 260,000 in November and fell 3% in the year to date to 3.03 million.

According to Dow Jones, the VDA said strong demand in export markets helped lift German car output from a weak October as November production rose 4% to 501,300 cars, pulled up by an 8% increase in exports.

Production in the first 11 months of 2002 was still 4% lower at 4.79 million, with exports down 1%, VDA said, according to Dow Jones.
