From 2nd April 2002, a new wholly owned subsidiary company named Mitsubishi Motors Deutschland GmbH (MMD) will distribute all Mitsubishi cars and trucks in Germany.
Under German law, all employees as well as the current dealer agreements existing on April 2nd will be transferred to MMD.
Commenting on the agreement, MME’s president & CEO, Stefan Jacoby said: “Back in 1977, MADG put Mitsubishi successfully on the map in the most demanding market in Europe and this should be acknowledged.”
Referring to MME’s distribution strategy, Stefan Jacoby added: “Direct control of a network is not a pattern applicable to all countries, as prevailing local market conditions do vary. However, we are convinced that a new and direct relationship with our customers in Germany was needed as it is the largest market in Europe.”
MMD will be headquartered in Trebur (Hessen), near Frankfurt and headed by Thomas Holtgraefe as Managing Director.
