After construction taking just under three years, Mercedes-Benz World has risen on a 53,000 square metre site outside the main gate of DaimlerChrysler’s Stuttgart-Untertürkheim plant and is already open to the public.
Zetsche said: “Mercedes-Benz World creates a link between a fascinating museum and a state-of-the-art automotive centre; it encompasses 120 years of history, from the very first motor car up to its boldest visions for the future.”
Chronologically ordered presentations cover the entire “Mercedes Legend” from the dawn of automotive history up to visions of the future.
The three-story centre has space to display about 130 vehicles and also houses the factory-collection vehicle delivery centre and a service outlet.
The entire site is also available for functions attended by up to 30,000 people.
