Mazda Motors Europe (MME) has closed out its fiscal year ended 31 March with sales of its highest annual unit volume in 15 years – 301,200 cars, up 6.7% year on year.

Five countries set all-time fiscal year sales records for both volume and market share, the Leverkusen, Germany-based marketing and distribution unit said on Tuesday.
March retail sales volume was up 6.1% at 37,750 units.
UK sales reached a with a record 50,500 units, up 2.3%, and a record market share, estimated at 1.8%. Russia set fiscal year (FY) records for volume and market share as well, at 35,500 units and about 3.5% respectively; as did Spain, where 18,700 units were sold for an estimated market share of 1.0%.
In France, a notoriously difficult market for Japanese brands to penetrate, 15,000 units were sold for an estimated market share of 0.6%, both FY records. Portugal had its best-ever FY result for volume and market share at 4,350 units and 1.7%.
